ABOUT ME

I’m a Clinical Psychologist with over Fifteen years of experience providing psychological therapy. I specialise in working with psychological trauma and am an accredited EMDR practitioner. In previous roles, I served as Clinical Lead for Trauma within an outpatient psychological therapies department.

I’m passionate about helping people understand and overcome the difficulties they’re facing. Sometimes the source of distress isn’t clear—I offer a safe, empathic space to explore what’s going on and work together to find a way forward.

Alongside trauma, I have extensive experience supporting individuals with:

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Anger and emotional regulation

  • Relationship and interpersonal difficulties

I tailor therapy to your unique needs, drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches to help you move toward your goals and values.

I also have a strong interest in working with neurodivergent individuals and always practice from an affirmative, strengths-based perspective. I offer autism diagnostic assessments and personalised therapy that honours your identity and experience.

Taking the first step can feel daunting—whether it’s making time for yourself or facing painful experiences. If you’re considering therapy, I invite you to get in touch for an initial consultation.

I work both online and in person from my therapy room in Market Weighton, East Riding of Yorkshire.

Why Choose a Clinical Psychologist?

It’s natural to feel unsure about who to turn to when you’re struggling. Clinical Psychologists are highly trained professionals who specialise in understanding how we think, feel, and behave—and how to support people through emotional challenges.

Here’s what that means for you:

  •  Extensive Training: Clinical Psychologists complete years of specialist training, including a doctorate, learning how to work with a wide range of mental health difficulties.

  • Tailored Support: We don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we draw on different therapy models to create a plan that fits your unique needs.

  • Deeper Understanding: We’re trained to explore complex issues, including trauma, neurodivergence, and long-standing patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing.

  • Formal Assessments: We can offer structured assessments—such as autism diagnostics—when clarity is needed.

  • Safe, Professional Care: Clinical Psychologists are regulated by the HCPC, which means we follow strict standards to keep you safe and supported.

You don’t need to know all the technical terms or therapy types—that’s our job. What matters is that you feel heard, understood, and supported in a way that works for you.

Therapeutic Approaches:

I draw on a range of models to support your journey, including:

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
